Privacy at SidePick

What we process
SidePick creates a random identifier in your browser so the platform can remember one vote per debate on that device. The server stores a one-way hash of that identifier, your selected side, and timestamps. We do not require your name or email to vote.
Comments and reports
Comments are public and appear under a generated anonymous name. We store the comment, selected side, time, and a one-way hash of the device identifier. Reports record a reason and a one-way reporter hash so one device cannot repeatedly report the same comment. Do not post personal or confidential information.
Security and abuse prevention
To limit automated or excessive activity, SidePick temporarily processes network and browser information and stores one-way security hashes in rate-limit windows. Automated checks may reject links, contact details, repeated characters, or threatening language. Repeatedly reported comments may be hidden.
Aggregate analytics
We count page visits and actions such as saved votes, comments, shares, seven-day results visits, support-page visits, and checkout starts by day. These counters are designed to measure platform performance without building individual visitor profiles.
Payments
If you choose to provide optional support, payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. SidePick does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe's own privacy terms apply to its service.
Your choices
You may clear your browser storage to remove the local device identifier. Doing so may cause the platform to treat that browser as a new device. Public comments may remain as part of the discussion and safety record.
This page is a plain-language summary and may be updated as the platform changes.
